Allowing Website Monitoring in Cloudflare

Knowledgebase

KloudFox's monitoring agent may have difficulty accessing your site to check its uptime. To ensure your website status is accurately reflected in your KloudFox account, please allow our agent's static IP addresses to access your site through the Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF).

Follow these steps to configure Cloudflare:

  1. Sign into Cloudflare and select your domain

  1. Click on Security > WAF on the left sidebar.
  2. Click Create Rule.

  1. Set up a new WAF rule with the following settings:
    • Rule name: "Allow KloudFox agents" (or a name of your choosing)
    • Field: IP Source Address
    • Operator: Is In
    • Value: The list of our agent IPs
    • Then take action: Skip
    • Check all WAF components to disable all WAF features for our agents

The screenshot below illustrates this rule configuration.

Instead of adding this custom rule for every KloudFox IP address on every single CloudFlare domain in my account, I found it was much easier to go under the "Tools" tab of CloudFlare's Security > WAF area and adding the IP addresses once in "Allow" mode for "All Websites in Account"
